Google Founder Sergey Brin and Wife Anne Wojcicki Finalize Divorce

Sergey Brin, one of Google’s co-founders, and his Wife Anne Wojcicki have made it official. They are now divorced.

The couple split in 2013 after Mrs. Brin caught her hubby fooling around with a much younger woman in her 20s who worked for Google, Amanda Rosenberg.
Sometimes success changes people. Apparently Brin, who is worth an estimated $30 million, had been playing the field for a while before Anne caught him. A friend of theirs told Vanity Fair, “Instead of just being a Google founder, Sergey was suddenly awesome, a cool person, a performer — a celebrity. And he was like, ‘Wait a second — I’m doing all this cool stuff, and then I have to come home and change diapers?'”
Brin is currently dating a very much younger Nicole Shanahan, founder of the patent technology company ClearAccessIP.

Popular Nollywood actor Chiwetalu Agu cries out confessing what acting wicked characters in movies has done to His life

Popular Nollywood actor, Chiwetalu Agu, often acts the role of a wicked man in movies. And his depictions are so real that many fans believe that is his real character. In this chat with Showtime Celebrity, he explains that the negative reaction of fans towards his wicked roles is what actually led him into acting comic roles. Excerpts…
You seem to have an affinity for comedies; why is that?

Chiwetalu Agu

Can you share instances when fans reacted to you with the belief that you’re a wicked man?
I wouldn’t call it affinity. Years ago, I found out that most of the scripts that were brought to me didn’t have comic relief; I was always given roles of a wicked man and I got to understand that most of my fans were not pleased with it. Some of them felt it was something real, and the consequence was that whenever I stepped out in public, I was caught in embarrassing situations. I then decided to be infusing comic relief even when I’m playing wicked characters because I’m a veteran  screen writer. In the early 80s, we were operating in NTA Enugu, which was formerly Anambra Television Channel 50, so the talent is there, and I combined it with the wicked roles they were giving me. The result is that when you are watching me play a wicked role, you will still have cause to laugh, and ease your tension. In fact, I have achieved a lot by doing that.
They have done daring things. Some of their actions look like attacks, but with my experience as an entertainer, I will say I saw all that coming, so I was able to manage all of them very well. But one day, while I was on Onitsha ‘Head Bridge’ on my way to  Asaba, there was this traffic snarl that made us come out of the car. One fan came to hail me and slap me on the shoulder in the course of appraising my unique style of acting. Some other persons cautioned him, and he fired back by saying, ‘Don’t you know this man is my all-in-all? He makes me happy; whenever I’m not happy, I just slot in his movie, and I become happy.’ That was an embarrassing incident, but I saw it coming because that was the period I was playing evil diabolical roles. However, I also touch lives, because sometimes when we shoot movies, it’s like we’re telling some people’s life story. You know, talking about what happens in various families where wicked uncles deal with their nephews and things like that. But like I said earlier, I thank God that I have found a way of getting people to laugh at the same time they watch me play wicked roles.
Is there any role you would love to play that you’ve not had the opportunity to?
I am planning my own production outfit, and the name of my company is Chukwuwetalu Films. By the grace of God, when we take off, I’m going to be playing roles such as a true man of God, a romantic figure, and other characters that people haven’t really seen me portray. My fan clubs all over the world will then have the opportunity to see me doing well in those areas.
Some people say that Nigerian actors are not properly trained; what do you have to say about that?
We can’t do without film schools. There should be regular workshops where actors will be trained and retrained because all we have been doing mostly came from no background. But I will still commend our people because without a solid background, they have been able to prove their mettle, and I know that everything is going to improve in terms of acting when these schools start working and people go there on regular basis to get trained. It will help the industry grow better.
Recently, a picture of you grabbing the boobs of an actress, Anita Joseph, on a movie set went viral; what really happened?
They are my daughters. It was a story, and we were playing our roles. Maybe you didn’t have time to watch that movie to understand what was going on. The main character in that movie was Ini Edo who was rascally, and more of a tom-boy. If she fought with my daughters, she would defeat them, so I did everything to prepare strong grounds for them to overpower her, but it wasn’t possible. So I said since that failed, let’s look for another way to prepare them to live their lives, so that any suitor who sees them will fall in love and marry them. That way, they will be useful since they failed in fighting a common enemy. The scene that went viral was where I was dressing them up for a burial ceremony that was coming up where I expected men to see them, and to find them attractive enough to take as wives. You know women’s bust plays a very big role in attracting any man who comes as a suitor, but people who wanted sensation made the picture go viral to sell their media. If I tell you now that I help some children in the motherless baby’s home, it may not be as sensational as when they say that I raped a minor.
But how does your wife react to scenes like that?
If I have up to one million fans, my wife will be number one. The greatest joy she derives is watching me act; no matter how negative the role is, because she is the only person that knows me better than anyone else since we live together. She knows how gentle and wonderful I am. She also knows how philanthropic I am because I always love to help humanity. So when she sees me in those kinds of scenes, she knows I’m just acting. Each time I churn out a catch-phrase, byline or slogan, she laughs so hard that even the person who is one mile away will hear the sound. She doesn’t find anything I do in films embarrassing at all; the reverse is the case.
You mean she even tells you to do it better if she feels it’s not good enough?
Yes, she chips in her own advice on how to make my acting more comical. She knows I’m a very strong comic character; comedy is in my nature, and that is the first thing that makes her happy that I’m her husband. There are some husbands that always have hard countenances, and their wives fear them, but I’m not like that. As far as I’m concerned, she is my biggest fan.
Is any of your children taking after you?
My second son is comical in nature. At times, he goes out of his way to wear women’s dress to make caricature out of some ideas. Then my first son; each time I return from anywhere, he greets me with the slogan of my last movie he watched. One of my daughters is a fashion designer, and whenever she dresses herself up, she looks more attractive and fashionable than any other girl of her age. The creative nature runs in the family and I’m sure that when they all come out of school, they are going to fit into my company because it’s going to be a conglomerate by God’s grace, producing many titles,  including comedy, tragedy, and many others. I’m also going to be involved in distributing directly to houses and offices.
So you encourage them to take it serious?
Why not? Their school fees come from what I’m doing, their feeding, and everything about their welfare comes from this. They have shown the flair already; all I have to do is encourage them.
How do you intend to surmount piracy with your company?
I believe that the biggest problem in the industry is piracy. About five years ago, I went to NIPOST in course of carrying out a survey on how to make marketing work and beat piracy. I bought a book called post codes from NIPOST, and it contains all the street codes and numbers in Nigeria. After that, I went to the National Population Commission (NPC), Abuja, to get two of their books which contained records ending 2006. When I start my company, my subscribers, who will be up to 50million, will be paying into a designated account. Whenever anybody pays, the official vehicles of my company, will deliver the consignment either to the person’s house or office wherever they are in the country. The movies will not be sold on the open market, so if you see it in the open market, everybody will know it’s a pirated copy.

Nigeria to rely on 75% importation of petrol in 2016 – NNPC

ABUJA — The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, yesterday, said the country will still rely on 75 per cent importation of fuel throughout the whole of next year.

According to him, “the future is that, Nigeria is still going to import fuel in 2016 and beyond. Best case situation is 25 per cent local and 75 per cent importation. Worse case is what we are experiencing now.
Group Managing Director NNPC and Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, stated this during his tour of Kaduna Refinery and Petrochemical Company, KRPC.
“Until we begin to get individuals who can co-relocate, we are going to be doing a mixture of local and importation of fuel to meet up demands. In the next few weeks, however, queues will disappear in fuel stations.”
The minister affirms that the Kaduna refinery, in no time, will be producing more than two million litres per day capacity as soon as an Fluid Catalytic Cracking, FCC, unit is fully on stream.
He said: “We need to get it back to re-kit it to work well. We will do that with some level of production going on. Our concern is to have a consistent production and provision of products at all times.”
On subsidy and pricing, Kachikwu said: “We will not be fluctuating prices, we will take an average. Today no subsidy, in January we will look at the situation and announce it.”
On privatization, he said: “President Muhammadu Buhari has not approved any policy about selling the refineries.

Buhari’ govt spending money like a drunken sailor – Fani- Kayode

ABUJA- FORMER Spokesperson of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan Campaign Organisation, Chief Femi Fani- Kayode has described the 2016 budget as presented by President Muhammadu Buhari to the joint National Assembly as that fueled by insincerity.
According to him, it was ironic that former governor Asiwaju Tinubu; Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi and Governor Nasir El- Rufai who kicked against deregulation during former President Jonathan, have suddenly become great supporters of deregulation.
In a statement he signed yesterday and made available to Journalists in Abuja, Chief Fani- Kayode who accused Buhari’s administration of spending money like a drunken sailor, alleged that the government was borrowing as if there was no tomorrow.
The former Aviation Minister who noted that the government was mortgaging the future of Nigeria, Nigerians and our children, said, “The 2016 budget is fueled by insincerity, shrouded in fantasy, built on tall dreams and spawned by deceit, ignorance and the illusion of change. It is bloated, unrealistic, expensive, cosmetic and it will not result in anything good.
“In order to fund part of the budget the government intends to borrow money and this will throw our country into even greater debt. What a tragedy this is given the fact that in 2007 Nigeria was debt-free. The Buhari administration is spending money like a drunken sailor and they are borrowing as if there is no tomorrow, mortgaging the future of our nation and our children.
” We need far more fiscal discipline and seriousness than that if our government really wishes to improve the economy and better the lives of ordinary people.
“Meanwhile the Federal Government has said that President Goodluck Jonathan is responsible for today’s long fuel queues even though he left office 7 months ago.
” They seem to have forgotten that in 2012 it was their group, led by Bola Tinubu, Nasir El Rufai, Rotimi Amaechi and President Buhari himself that aggressively opposed deregulation and almost brought the whole country to a standstill with protests and riots all over the place in their efforts to prevent the government from removing the oil subsidy.
“Had it not been for their pettiness, lack of understanding, shortsightedness and double standards the subsidy would have been removed three years ago and fuel queues would have been a thing of history. Sadly they lacked the foresight to appreciate the virtues of that policy and today they have the nerve to blame Jonathan for the mess that they themselves essentially created.
“They have been in power for 7 months now: it is time for them to step up to the plate, start taking responsibility for their own actions, do a better job and stop blaming Jonathan for their own miserable and avoidable failures.”

How I got back my trimmed body three weeks after birth —Lizzygold Onuwaje

It’s been just about a month, actress and former Miss Delta State, Lizzygold Onuwaje, surprised us all with her baby bump photos and the birth of her child. Naturally, she should be a nursing mother and worried sick how to get her former shape back? But not Lizzy, as she is already up and about and looking like she has never passed through the labour room.
From the photos she sent to Potpourri, it is as clear as day, that the actress has a secret recipe to have turned out looking something that just came off the production line of a manufacturing company. “After birth, I avoided fatty, oily and solid meals.
All I did was drink hot liquid meals for a week with very light meals” she said in a chat with Potpourri.
“And then, I did exercises on my tummy. I didn’t give it a break and I always drank very hot pepper soup made by my mum.
Pepper soup is medicinal and that did the magic for me” she squirmed “ I did pelvic bone exercise, it is good to exercise the first week after birth because then the tummy fat is still very tender and will be easy to burn”she said.

Some Stories cannot be told without sex scene

Titi  Osinowo is one of the budding actresses in the Yoruba movie industry making waves. She is a graduate of English Language, Tai Solarin University of Education. The light-skinned role interpreter has featured in movies like Halimat, The Valleys Between and This Time Tomorrow. In this interview, she talks about her worst location experience, the injection of sex in movies, what makes her cry and other issues.
oshinowo titiYou started with soaps but seem to be doing more of Yoruba films, why?
I just found myself doing lots of Yoruba movies these days.
Why?
May be I should say it soothes me better.

Talking about movies, why haven’t you been taking many lead roles?
That’s a billion dollar question. It’s not easy getting lead roles except you produce your movies or you compromise on your standard which I don’t intend to.
What has been your worst location experience?
The producer of the movie wanted to date me and because I refused, he didn’t give me a room to stay. He also didn’t pay me after I had spent days on the location, working.
What did you do when the producer refused to pay for your services?
I walked away.
Why do we always have sex scandals in Nollywood?
Sex scandals? I’d rather zip my lips on that.
How do you see the injection of sex scenes into our films?
I’m indifferent about that. It’s a make-belief world. Sex is everywhere. And there are stories that would not be well told if there are no sex scenes.
Which pays more, soap operas or movies?
Soap operas pay per each episode and not scenes. Unlike movies where you get paid for your appearance in the whole movie.
What was your first appearance on set like?
I was nervous but thank God for the director who made me feel at home with the role. The crew were also wonderful.
It is said that no woman, no cry. So, what makes Titi cry?
Heartbreak, or the loss of a loved one. Also, I become emotional when I’m overwhelmed worshipping God.
(Cut in) In the mood of worship?
(Laughs) Yes, that’s the right word.
How do you unwind?
I stay indoors to study the word of God and watching movies.
You sound like the ‘’churchy’’ type?
I am the only daughter of my parents. I come from a family of five. Ours is a core Christian background. This influenced my lifestyle a lot. I am very prayerful till date. I grew up with a strict father who doesn’t allow me go out or entertain visitors. It was just me and my folks till I gained admission into the university.
Describe yourself?
I am patient, tolerant and prayerful.
Some actresses say acting does not pay their bills, is this true with you?
Yes it doesn’t pay, it’s just the passion that keeps me moving.
What is the nicest thing acting has brought you?
Acting has improved my attitude. Acting is like another world and that means working on my attitude to soothe that world.
What has  been the best thing ever written about you?
I can’t remember .
Apart from acting, do you engage in other things?
Yes, I am trying to get another job. I’m a versatile person so don’t be surprised when you see another side of Titi Oshinowo.
Can you date an actor?
Yes I can if he’s my kind of man. This person must have good morals and be God fearing. He should also be somebody I can look up to. He should be a teacher so to say.
What were you into before joining the make believe industry?
I was in school.
You once said you could dump acting if your spouse wants you to, what do you think this connotes?
It only points to the fact that I’m dedicated and committed to my relationship. If he wants me to quit acting, then it’s fine.
How soon should we expect the wedding bells?
I am waiting on God. Let’s all keep our fingers crossed.
What’s your favorite colour?
Blue and green.
What’s new in your plate?
Trying to get a lot done.
Can you take us through these?
No, not yet (smiles).
Why do you think Yoruba films are poorly subtitled?
I think we are improving on that you know. Rome was not built in a day
